It’s no secret that in recent years we have noticed the masculinity in women’s fashion. Oversized blazers are a strong trend now and must admit I am a big fan of 80’s cuts, slouchy and oversized silhouettes! Why? They are easy to style, go with most of my wardrobe, and last but not least, can also fit my growing baby bump :)
This season’s blazers must be boldly oversized. They are bigger, longer and broader in arms. There is no doubt, once you are wearing this piece you are automatically making a real statement. It is not only about the loose shape but about the proportions and impression that you borrowed the blazer from man’s wardrobe. You can find some great oversized blazer options in both, luxury brands collections and high street shops, but you can also check what you could easily adapt from your man’s, dad’s or brother’s wardrobe. Also, vintage shops are full of pieces that are perfectly in line with current oversized trend.
When it comes to styling I really consider oversized blazer as a life saver. It has this magic power of dressing you down or up depending on what pieces you will mix it with. Put it over a fancy and elegant outfit and it will immediately make you look effortlessly styled. Or throw it over something simple, like a pair of leggins and a t-shirt, to get a fashionable and smart look. I also love to wear it belted as a dress. With only changing my shoes from chunky sneakers to heels I can easily transform it from a day to night outfit.
The options are countless and I would love to hear what are your ideas for styling an oversized blazers! Go big or go home, that’s what they say, right?
