While writing this post for you, I initially titled it “Vintage Christmas Eve Look”. And well, what a misinterpretation that would be. “Vintage” is probably one of the most misused terms when it comes to second hand clothing. Correctly, this term describes items which were made in the 1920s or later, but not later than 20 years before the present year. It refers to the age of the item, rather than the style of it or to the fact that it was pre owned. So it cannot be vintage if it was manufactured in the last 20 years. Facing the truth, my look is second hand, but not vintage ;)
I am not an expert when it comes to second hand clothes shopping, but from time to time I hit shops with pre owned clothes and somehow manage to find real gems. Oversized, masculine silhouette blazers already have a special place in my closet. I love how easily they dress up a casual jeans look or dress down a slip dress. So this time I hunted man’s blazer with a wallet friendly price tag – 4pln! (less than 1 Euro!). What more, the blazer was brand new with tags.
Here I have styled it with my black slip dress, festive heels from last year and layered jewelry. I am so into pearl necklaces recently but I like to wear it mixed with my other favorite jewelry pieces, to give it less refined look. This is how I will dress for the Christmas Eve with my family, how do you like it?
With love,
Betty
