Relax, take it easy. Do you remember that song? So play it out lout and prepare yourself for the most relaxing experience in my favorite SPA ever. And I guess not only mine. Głęboczek Vine Resort & SPA has been deservedly recognized as The Best SPA in Poland. I have visited this hotel 16 times over the last 6 years, so believe me, I know a thing or two about it. Every time I try something new I rarely get fully satisfied and promise myself to go back to Głęboczek. So let me introduce you to the wine and chill out paradise. It’s the place where silence is like a music, wine is your company even during SPA treatments and outstanding hospitality makes you never want to leave it.
About the hotel
The SPA is actually and old farm that many years ago belonged to a an old, widowed lady. There is even an interesting legend behind it. Two man came fishing to the nearby lake and as it was super cold, they knocked to the old lady’s door and asked for hot tea to warm up. As she lived on her own after her husband passed away, she was really pleased to have visitors. So she invited them to the dinner. During the conversation men discovered that the lady is going to sell the whole property and move to the city. And well, they made the decision immediately.
Since this two investors bought the farm, it has been totally rebuild and transformed into a cozy hotel. Modern in style and facilities but with local traditions well preserved. All the buildings have been restored and turned into hotel apartments, restaurant and a SPA section. In 2010 the hotel went again through major renovation and got the final surface of luxury SPA hotel surrounded by vineyards. Głęboczek Vine Resort & SPA is split into few smaller buildings what makes the place looks more like a countryside guesthouses than a hotel. It grants more intimate atmosphere and countryside vibes but with a luxury hotel standard. The concept of the hotel is beautiful and simple – to give you as much relax as only possible.
Rooms – my recommendations
After visiting Głęboczek Vine Resort & SPA so many times, I can sincerely recommend you the best room options with best available views.
My favorite rooms:
Apartment View in Osada
There are three ground floor apartments with breathtaking lake view and this option is my favorite choice for summer. All three rooms have panoramic windows, impressive lake view and a private terrace. I love it during warmer season as you can just open your terrace window and walk directly to the flower fields or down to the lake for a swim. Apartments are really specious but still very cozy. It’s a perfect choice especially for a romantic couple weekend. What is worth noticing, is that these rooms are located outside of the main hotel building. You will get more intimate atmosphere but remember you need to go outside of the building if you are heading to SPA section or restaurant. Consider this especially during colder days.
Hotel Winnica I
On winter season my preferable choice is main hotel building called “Hotel Winnica I”. Simply to avoid dressing up and undressing every time when I go to the restaurant or to SPA section as it’s all located in the same building. In this hotel section you have several rooms to choose: standard rooms, family apartment with two separate rooms inside and exclusive suites. Suites are more specious, offer great view and beautiful bathtub right by the window so you can admire the surrounding while taking a bath. Although taking a bath there was amazing, I still think this room is a bit overpriced for what It offers. My favorite standard room in Hotel Winnica I is room number 47. It’s bigger then other rooms and has a nice terrace. Great option is also one of the standard standard rooms on the ground floor with smaller terraces overlooking vineyards.
The chalet – Chata Lniana
This one is a totally separated wooden house that gives you the maximum of intimacy. The house has it’s own sauna and roofed terrace with table and hammock. The interior is super cozy with open space bath tub and panoramic view of the area and lake. Really beautiful and cozy. There is one king size bed in the chalet and one double folded sofa. It’s good to know that even if this chalet can accommodate up to 4 adult people, the interior is not divided into separate rooms. There is only one sleeping and living area inside of the chalet.
Food and wine
Food and wine in Gleboczek Vine Resort & SPA are my secret reasons of frequent visits. It’s just so good! The cuisine is typically Polish but with a modern twist. The chef is really creative and makes the best out of locally resourced eco products. Also, the menu changes frequently and is reflecting seasonally available ingredients. On weekends you can enjoy life cooking in the form of buffet or themed dinners. Breakfast is super diverse including no meat, vegan, gluten free and lactose free options. Did I mention there is also a sparkling wine served with breakfast to make it even more festive? The service of the hotel goes above and beyond your needs so if you have any other dietary needs, there will be something cooked especially for you.
How to get there?
Głęboczek Vine Resort & SPA is located in the beautiful part of Poland called Mazury. The nearest airports are Warsaw with 2,5 hours drive and Gdansk with 2,15 hours drive. There is one more small airport in the Mazury area but the number of flights if very limited. As of now, the only direct flights connections are from Dortmund in Germany and London Luton in UK. If you are traveling from any place in Poland, car will be the most convenient choice.
Activities
My favorite thing to do when I visit any spa is doing completely nothing. Well, also reading books, but I am not sure if that counts as an activity. I cannot say the same about my husband who is always super active and searching for any possibility to do something extra. No matter what type of person you are, you will find great way to spend your time in Głęboczek Vine Resort & SPA.
You can relax with a book and wine by the cozy fireplace in winter or by the outdoor swimming pool in summer. You can bike around the area, try paddle boarding or canoeing in the lake, rent a boat or enjoy horseback riding. The team of the hotel is super creative and always eager to plan some fun activities like golf school, picnics or yoga classes. If you are a wine lover you may enjoy wine testing provided by the certified sommelier or attend wine harvest in the autumn.
During winter season you can visit nearby slopes of Kurza Góra that is only 12 km far from the hotel and offer 2,5 km of slopes open daily through the whole season. You can find more information about skiing here. If you prefer cross-country skiing or sleight you can also find both available for guests at hotel’s reception.
Something for kids
Guests visiting Głęboczek Vine Resort & SPA with kids will be surprised how kids friendly a SPA place can be. There are many activities and animations planned for small guests in the hotel that no chance they will get bored. There is a fully equipped play room with animators, indoor swimming pool with a shallow area and an outdoor playground available all year round. It is so fun to see how kids are complaining during check out time that they do not want to leave and go home. Can’t blame them, I never want to leave either.
With love,
Betty
